Objective 1

Effective implementation of program activities

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Define program implementation modalities (targeting criteria, mobilization modalities, local partnerships, monitoring systems, staff schedules, etc.)
  • Define overall CMAM implementation plan in collaboration with UC personnel to ensure the full package is planned.
  • Plan and deliver trainings with support capacity building team on CMAM and IYCF to external stakeholders ( PPHI, INGO and NGOs) as well as internally (other DoH departments, nutrition staff)
  • Ensure sound monitoring of program activities.
  • Ensure that logistics and administrative arrangements are made timely with the concerned departments In collaboration with UNICEF, and Administration, responsible for Nutrition program.
  • Ensure provision of equipment, materials, supplies and drugs as necessary
  • Assess the needs of identified locations with local authorities and health personnel (HR, material/training needs, etc.)
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports from Nutrition department respectively Culster and UNICEF.
  • Ensure the implementation of activities defined by the Program Manager in coordination with the Logistics and Administration departments
  • Develop plan of work for OTP, SC and IYCF activities according to the expected progress of the project
  • Evaluate and update program needs (HR, financing, logistics)
  • Liaise with concerned government authorities and ensure the programme strategy, objectives and activities are understood and agreed and appropriate communication channel is in place
  • Provide advanced word processing support by creating complex spreadsheets, maintaining databases and creating high quality reports, presentations, and other documents
  • Involve in the preparation of key IYCF and health messages in reference to the existing health and nutrition education materials
  • Organize monthly meetings with the team and report the outcome to the head of the programme along with proposed action plan
  • Supervising treatment and progress of patients
  • Ensuring IYCF education is disseminated to the target beneficiaries
  • Ensuring adherence to and respect of current protocols
  • Analysing nutrition situation and prevailing trends
  • Compiling statistical data and draft appropriate reports on activities
  • Document lessons learned and best practices at the program/District level
  • Supervise the daily and monthly reporting submitted by field the teams
  • Provide technical support to IYCF, OTP, SC team when required

Objective 2

Team Management

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Oversee all staff for the nutrition project including regular performance evaluations, management, general well-being, job descriptions, work schedules, discipline, etc. in co-ordination with UNICEF and DOH and in accordance with ACF International and MOH  HR policies and guidelines.
  • Provide technical support to staff and promote learning based on project objectives and activities and ensure documentation and sharing of learning with other sectors and programs.
  • Ensure that staff responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, with performance objectives set against work plans and regularly monitored.
  • Adhere to and ensure Security Protocols are followed by Nutrition teams both when in Office and field areas as per stunting project.
  • Organize regular evaluation meetings of team members
  • Take appropriate measures in case of conflict and breach of policies.
  • Conduct training need assessment will support of CB team and identify training needs, and supervise the technical training of national nutrition staff members and Coordinate with ACF international Org.
  • Keep an updated register of the staff (absences, etc)

Objective 3

Representation and coordination

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Coordination and participation in Provincial Nutrition Cluster, and nutrition assessment/ survey groups and filing of meeting minutes.
  • Support, and actively participate the sub-Nutrition Cluster group meetings at district level constructively.
  • Coordination with ACF, DOH, PPHI, PNC UN agencies, DHO and any other stakeholders involved in nutrition at district and provincial level and calls for ad hoc meetings when necessary.
  • Development of network with other actors in the area as well as community leaders/representatives
  • Represent ACF nutrition programs when and if necessary vis-a-vis donors during their field visits
  • Identify structures where stakeholders are willing and motivated to integrate Stunting Project into the health system.
  • Ensure communication and coordination between the SC,OTP, and out reach teamin the frame of a Stunting approach
  • Sensitize main stakeholders on Stunting and need for support and commitment for long term access to life saving activities for children; at this stage the overall entry/exit strategy can be shared emphasizing the vital role of the stakeholders to make this happen.
  • Conduct regular meetings with other program staffs in ACF and other NGOs to discuss and document lessons learned (including capacity building).
  • Provide inputs in Researches, ACF conducting in Dadu district.

Objective 4

Lead planning activities in the Base and participate in strategic planning

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop planning documents (Scope documents, DIP budgets, forecast, proposals etc), regular revision of those and As per future requirement of the project
  • Increase Coordination with ACF as to be ensured  integration with WASH through integrated assessment, design, implementation and surveillance (including geographic, household, and individual targeting utilizing integrated indicators).
  • Mainstreaming gender, protection and DRR in project/program activities.
  • Contribute to agency contingency planning for possible Nutrition emergency response if required.
  • Plan and coordinate the activities closely with health authorities to ensure smooth integration of the Nutrition activities into the health system through the health system strengthening approach.

Objective 5

Nutrition supplies, equipment and stock management

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Monitor stocks physically at BHU level, check for expiry date, quality and quantity
  • Checking  that all the supplies are listed in the stock register, bin cards are visible.
  • Participate in the follow-up of supplies consumption and orders
  • Ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the functioning of SC and OTP (weekly, monthly or quarterly)
  • Make monthly physical inventory of all nutrition supplies
  • Raising relevant requests for supplies and stock well prior in time to prevent exhaustion of stocks and supplies for interventions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 4-5 years experience in nutrition programming with INGO/NGO/UN and related field experience in Infant and Young Child Feeding promotion, Breast feeding counseling, Community Mobilization, of which 02 year in a management/supervisory position.
  • Experience in capacity building and good training skills
  • Strong capacity for relations with team and local stakeholders 
  • Fluent in English (professional English required) and Sindhi
  • Good resource and time management skills
  • Supervisory and managerial skills with proven ability to manage a demanding workload
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel required, preferable knowledge of NIS
  • Knowledge on nutrition surveys and assessments (SMART, SQUEAC, KAP ect)
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and motivation skills
  • Experience with working in integrating CMAM into local health systems
  • Ability to plan and organize work Independent with appropriate follow through while paying close attention to detail and show initiative in completing tasks and projects in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with program area of intervention.
  • Good understanding on integrated programs (WASH,NUT) and incorporation of cross-cutting issues (DRR, Protection)
  • Able to set own deadlines and meet them consistently
  • Experience and flexibility in working with complex/big Organograms
  • Experience working with local government departments.
  • Disciplined and able to work autonomously and arrive at decisions and conclusions with minimal guidance

Note: These are project based positions and project will be implemented in coordination with the government of Sindh therefore salaries may differ from ACF actual salaries.
