Planning and organization of field based tasks

Tasks & responsibilities

Support the Study Managers with the development of the REFANI research study

• Help to finalise site specific data collection tools through formative research

• Support the Study Managers to pilot site specific quantitative and qualitative data collection tools.

• Support the StudyManagers in community mapping for the selection of study villages

• Work with the team to sensitise the study and its objectives to enable a thorough understanding and participation of villages within the study

• Effectively lead the team of Research Data Collectors and Research Mobilizers on data collection on community profile questionnaire, baseline and monthly data collection through electronic data collection system (Open Data Kit, ODK) on Android phones

• Form teams and distribute tasks among the teams

• Prepare integrated monthly planning and individual staff planning

• Assist immediate manager in designing movement plans

• Carry out regular data quality checks — e.g. field visits to spot check and guide teams on data collection and community mobilization

• Ensure that all anthropometric equipment is in good working order and is calibrated before every use

• Review each single filled tool/format of each staff member and give feedback on it

• Assist in data filtration and documentation

• Support immediate supervisor in designing database

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly review meetings and provide feedback on progress and challenges
  • Participate in daily meetings before leaving for field
  • Guide teams on using HaemoCue analysers for haemoglobin test on monthly basis
  • Work closely with and Research Mobilizers for data collection execution
  • Communicate aims and objectives of the study with community and respondents
  • Establish good relationship with the Taluka and UC authorities and community leaders
  • Establish a good understanding of the program within the community

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Collect and report any new security information, incident or any change of the context to the line manager
  • Respect the security guidelines as set in the Program Security Plan.
  • Follow ACF charter and gender policy during working with ACF.

Skills

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• 2 Years of relevant experience on similar position with 2- Years of relevant experience with NGOs/INGOs
• Previous experience of leading team in research and assessments
Other Skill and Essential Attributes:
• Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field
• Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to villages
• Ability to work in an environment where there are physical discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust or dirt
• Fluent in Sindhi and English
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to operate Android phones for data collection

PREFERRED
• Knowledge of local area
• Experience on electronic data collection system will be preferred
• Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work.
• Good community mobilization skills.
