Objective 1
Study planning and set up
· Lead on the development of a qualitative study – with support from the ENN PI and SC
· Work with the ENN PI and SC to finalise site specific qualitative data collection tools
· Identify and address any language barriers through translation and back translation of tools and templates
· Work with the ENN PI and SC to pilot site specific qualitative data collection tools
· Develop the database for the qualitative data collection
· Support the SC with the process evaluation data planning and collection
Objective 2
Co-ordination
· Work closely with the SC to coordinate quantitative and qualitative data collection
· Support the SC and work closely with ACF and other key stakeholders (e.g. government)to communicate the aims and objectives of the study
· Support the SC and ACF staff to ensure the implementation process is implemented in time with data collection periods
· Support the SC to explore opportunities for national level participation in the study vis-a-vis Government and national academic institutions
· Support the SC to establish a strong working relationship with ACF in Dadu and, with the support from the ENN PM where needed, help ensure strong communication links and information flow between ACF and ENN PI, as well as research counterparts from UCL
Objective 3
Training and team management
· Be prepared to undergo any training and partake in development courses as identified with the ENN PI
· Support the SC with training the study team in all aspects required by the REFANI study, and with providing on-going training and supervision to the study team as and when required
· Support the SC with regular meetings with the study staff before they leave for data collection (to motivate, feedback from the previous day and to troubleshoot any problems as they arise)
· Support the SC with familiarising the study team on the REFANI research principles (including ethical procedures)
· Support the SC with familiarising and regularly reminding the study team of the importance of the research, and emphasise the importance of quality and consistency of the data being collected and potential pitfalls
Objective 4
Data Management
· Plan data collection surveys in detail and manage all aspects of qualitative data collection
· Ensure a very high level of understanding, consistency and accuracy in data collection
· Undertake regular translation and data entry after each period of data collection
· Coordinate with the SC on the collection and management of the qualitative data
Objective 5
Reporting
· Have regular telecom meetings with the ENN PI and ENN PM to report on progress and, as and when needed, support field visits from the ENN team
· Participate in regular ACF team and base meetings
· Support the SC on monthly written reports for the ENN PI and ENN PM on key developments and deliverables. These reports will also be sent to the ACF field coordinator to ensure any issues arising can be addressed
· Support the ENN PI in the analysis and write up (providing preliminary drafts where necessary) of the study findings for peer review publication/s
· Present the findings at key external meetings if required.
· Provide written and verbal inputs on the project, and contribute to regular communications as and when required by the REFANI consortium, in order to support and further research uptake.
· Working closely with the ACF advocacy and communication team in Pakistan, help the REFANI consortium identify existing country-level platforms, networks and individuals who should be involved in research uptake and dissemination
