Summary

The Program Manager shall be responsible for:

  • · Lead and guide ACTED’s Nutrition Programme in Sindh province. Ensure that planned activities are successfully implemented;
  • · In collaboration with the programme team and coordination, determine the strategic direction of the programme in the short and medium term and map out activities, and contribute to the preparation of project proposals and budgets;
  • · Develop team capacity at both the individual and group level by organising/ facilitating trainings internally or through specialist agencies / individuals. The PM shall be responsible for the class room training and regular field training of project / field staff and for ensuring that all field teams are comprehensively briefed on the objective, expected output and overall implementation strategy of any given activity.
  • · Identify and interact with existing Nutrition actors in the province, including UN, local and provincial authorities and NGOs, and community initiatives. The Program Manager shall ensure that he/she regularly meets with other actors (government, NGOs, INGOs, CBOs) working in the same thematic and geographical area.
  • · He/she will propose and after approval of Area Coordination/Head of Program conduct program relevant research on need bases.
  • · He/she will collaborate with AMEU to design program indicators and qualitative assessments of the program interventions.
  • · Collaborate with the Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (AMEU) to assess need, monitor activities, and evaluate programme progress. Ensure that lessons learned in the course of implementation are integrated into the programme to ensure that it remains responsive and relevant.
  • · Be alert to opportunities arising for learning, collaboration and partnership that may enhance programme quality and responsiveness.
  • · Develop and implement an exit strategy in collaboration with his/her team, AME unit and the Head of Program.
  • · Liaise with the Nutrition and FSL Technical Working Group and its participants/ partners.
  • · Report regularly (as requested) to the Area Coordinator and HOP/Country Director.
  • · Prepare and develop the Project Management tools (i.e. PMF, Logframe).
  • · Translate relevant documents or information during coordination visits.
Profile Required

1- MBBS or MPH or Masters in Nutrition education. ( other Social Sciences degree can be considered with 5 years experience in Nutrition and FSL programming)

2- In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge and exposure of different FSL and Nutrition interventions being implemented in Pakistan

3- Minimum three years working experience in Community based Nutrition programming in rural areas of Pakistan

4- Minimum one year experience in Food Security and Livelihood interventions supporting nutrition status of communities

5- Knowledge and experience of social mobilization and community participation tools and techniques

6- Experience in research, training, and monitoring of Nutrition and FSL interventions

7- Language proficiency in English and URDU. Sindhi speaking is plus.

• Ability to manage a team and demonstrate leadership by bringing a geographically

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;

• Fluency in English required - ability to communicate in Urdu and Sindhi.

• Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel and Project Management software a requirement.
