Job Summary

Senior Manager Professional Development will have the overall responsibility to assist regional management for achieving and furthering the successful in-service professional development goals both for teachers and school leaders. S/he will be responsible to build linkages and partnership with AKDN institutions and other professional development institutions in offering need based continuous professional development programmes for teachers and school leaders. His/her responsibilities will include development and constant revision of professional development standards and benchmarks for schools teachers and school leaders, review the professional development needs identified in school teachers and school leaders performance management cycle and study the impact of professional development on student and teacher learning. The incumbent will report to Head of Education, and work in close coordination with General Managers and Regional Manager Academic in the regions. The position is based in Islamabad

Responsibilities

· Develop professional development standards for schools teachers and school leaders;

· Ensure the compliance of continuous professional development policies both at the regional and school level;

· Conduct orientation sessions for regional management on the professional development standards and policies for schools teachers and school leaders;

· Give strategic directions, critically review professional development plans developed by regional teams and facilitate capacity building of the regional teams leading professional development programmes;

· Bring synergy among regional teams by engaging them in collaborative planning and to share the professional development manuals;

· Develop linkages, partnership and working relations with professional development institutions within and beyond AKDN;

· Analyse professional development programmes against target setting in the teachers and school leaders’ performance appraisal;

· Facilitate professional development impact studies at regional and school level, disseminate and create discussion forums related to research and best professional development practices;

· Seek feedback from teachers and teacher educators, and accordingly advice the professional development planning team to incorporate in their future endeavours;

· Work on any other task assigned by immediate supervisor and/or senior management.
