AGA KHAN FOUNDATION(Pakistan) The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is a private, non-denominational, international development agency established in 1967. It seeks sustainable solutions to long-term problems of poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill-health with special emphasis on the needs of rural communities in mountainous and other resource poor regions, primarily in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Its main areas of focus are education, health, rural development, environment and strengthening civil society. PROGRAMME ADVISOR/CONSULTANT, HEALTH and BUILT ENVIRONMENT The will be an active member of the Health Built Environment (BE) team and will closely work with the Director/Programme Manager, Health and BE on the programmatic issues. The advisor will be a resource person to support and complement the existing Health and BE team in programme development, maintaining compliance with the donor requirement and developing effective working relationships with government agencies and other organisations. Main Duties & Responsibilities: - Coordinating with donors and identifying opportunities and resource mobilization for the Health and BE programmes;
- Exploring the opportunities for partnership with Government (local and national), developing the partnership modalities and properly documenting the programmatic, financial and legal aspects to minimise the possible risk and protect AKDN strategic interest;
- Providing technical support to the implementing partners in design, implementation and monitoring of projects, preparing the yearly work and budget plans and preparing the quality progress reports;
- Identifying appropriate forums to share programme experience and disseminate results and the lessons learned;
Required Qualifications: The incumbent should have a Masters degree preferably in Public Health & environment and at-least 15 years of relevant experience in the development sector. Candidates with strong quantitative & qualitative skills, good written & spoken English, excellent interpersonal skills & knowledge of MS Office, flexibility to travel and ability to work in a diversified environment are encouraged to apply.
