Job Purpose:

ICT teachers generally design and deliver courses information and communications technology (ICT) including desktop applications and campus-specific software. Teaching ICT generally falls into two categories: desktop

Software applications (word processing, database, spreadsheets, internet and email, presentations and desktop publishing); and technical areas such as programming, web design, networking and PC maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in computer science;
  • Participate in campus and community events;
  • Evaluate and grade student’s class work , laboratory work, and assignments;
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records;
  • Prepare and deliver lectures to senior school students on topics such as programming, data structure,

and software design.

  • Initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom discussions;
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction;
  • Supervise student’s laboratory work;

Obligations:

  • participating in campus organized learning and development training programs;
  • Participating in head Office organized training programs.

Behavior Management:

  • must not use corporal punishment as medium of corrective measures of controlling students’ behavior;
  • Must avoid abusive verbal language to control a pupil’s behavior.

Feedback:

  • provides positive feedback in developing pupil’s understanding of concept;
  • Abstains from labeling a pupil negatively, such as poor, low IQ, dumb etc.
