Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education – PAGE is an Independent registered Trust that aims to turn a new page for girls by creating an enabling environment that ensures gender equity in access to education. PAGE was established by the integrated efforts of decision makers, education experts, development practitioners and patrons to act together and align their synergies towards promoting the gender equity in education and literacy in Pakistan.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager, the Social Mobiliser will perform the following duties: 
  • Identify, strategize and plan outreach engagement activities in collaboration with schools
  • Carry out Social Mobilisation in Afghan communities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, supporting schools with enrolment of out of school children from Afghan Refugee Community
  • Creating awareness raising within the community on importance of education with special focus of girls education
  • Identify problems and examine solution to education in partnership with Afghan Refugee Schools and parents 
  • Carry out linkage building activities to bridge the community with schools and the project 
  • Implement activities as per project mandate and work plan and establish a well-defined monitoring system for the field activities. 
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Programme Manager within the area of his/her competence.
  • Organise and support teacher training programme in the selected school
  • Assist the Project Officer with monitoring of the project
  • Fill out a database of the selected schools, and keep up to date information on new enrolments
  • Provide Weekly reports on Social mobilising activities and results to Project Officer, including questions, feedback and comments from parents, children and schools
  • Assist in preparing monthly and end of project report
  • Capture Success stories and lessons learned throughout the duration of the project

Specification:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Social Sciences or relavant course
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience

Skills and attributes

  • Ability to maintain good relationship with students, mentors, mentees, and staff.
  • Great organizational skills and responsible individual.
  • Ability to provide technical advice wherever required.
  • Good coordination abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills, understanding of use of Social Media and other sites for promotion of PAGE and its programmes
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Active, creative and result oriented
  • Passionate about helping and empowering women
  • Self-motivated, optimistic person who is ready to think out of box and willing to learn with an open mind
