All Branch Heads shall be responsible to Principal / Dir APSS for the following for their respective Branch;

(a) Smooth and efficient functioning of all academic and administrative functions of the Branch;

(b) Exercise and administer control of the respective Branch;

(c) Implementation of APSS Policies, Rules, Staff JDsand orders of the Executive Council;

(d) Implementation of school planning and maintenance of record;

(e) Ensuring adherence to the Code of Conduct by him/herself and all the subordinate Staff;

(f) Keep EC APSS informed about all the critical issues of the Branch;

(g) Supervise instructional work in classrooms vigilantly and effectively;

(h) Guide teachers on teaching methodology and ensure a high standard of instruction.

(I) Ensure teachers’ punctuality and availability in classes.

(j) Maintain up-to-date information about students’ strength, teachers’ nominal roll, syllabi-progress and examination/monthly test results.

(k) Coordinate with In-charge Progress Section for the conduct of monthly tests and examinations;

(l) Arrange regular Staff meeting to generate good team work;

(m) Teach 6-12 periods per week;

(n) Raise Annual Evaluation Reports of the Staff members;

(o) Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal.

Academic Duties and Responsibilities
6. Preparing and Distributing the Syllabus:
(a) Designated Branch Heads and Coordinators are responsible for preparing the Syllabus Books from Montessori Group to Class-10thand retain it in office after properly entering in register;
(b) Task the designated Syllabus In-charge to prepare week-wise syllabus from 1stApril to 30thMarch for Play-Group to Class-7thand forsecondary classes;
(c) Ensure that Syllabus Committee signsthe syllabus with date. Branch Head is to sign the syllabus before issuing it to Teaching Staff;
(d) Ensure that all teaching Staff is provided the copies of approved syllabus and that they strictly implement it day wise;
(e) Ensure that all teaching Staff designs the work-sheets according to syllabus and place all prepared syllabus and work-sheets in his/her office/custody;
(e) Monitor coverage of syllabi according to the syllabi breakdown issued by the Principal / EC.
7. New Admissions.While Academic Coordinators and Principal are responsible for constitution of New Admissions Committee in all Campuses of APSS, Branch Heads are to ensure the following:
(a) You receive three types of question papers for Play Group to Class-8th, and all the papers are attached in separate files;
(b) The question papers are placed under your safe custody;
(c) Admission test is administered to new admission students and tough question papers (50% subjective and 50% objective) are made as per APSS Policy and that the marking is strict;
(d) Provide one copy of result card each to parents, student’s personal file, and Academic Coordinator;ensure that the result card is attractive;
(e) Supervise conduct of entrance test of students seeking fresh admission. Test is to be completed in 10 to 15 minutes. Direct the new admission committee to take the test and inform the parents if their children are weak.
(f) Maintain updated record of all new admissions, their total admission fees, monthly fees and annual charges, etc;
8. Homework:
(a) Do spot check of homework diaries of students to ensure that homework is assigned by the teachers and recorded by the students;
(b) Set and implement homework timetable and check teachers’ correction on students’ notebooks;
(c) Summer Vacations Homework:
(i) Ensure that Summer Vacations Homework is prepared as per APSS Policy well in time with the help of Senior and Junior Coordinators for all classes;
(ii) Ensure that day-wise home task is prepared and is free of mistakes;
(iii) Ensure that teachers issue the homework task to all students;
9. Academic Performance
(a) Put in all efforts to bring the Branch’s academic performance up to the mark;
(b) Do weekly spot checks of Academic Head’s Planner, teachers’ Planners, students’ copies & diaries, method of teaching and syllabus;
