Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Web Developer to manage and leading a small team. You`ll be involved in all aspects of the development process as well as planning new features and functionality to expand the existing applications. You must have excellent hands on experience with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Build and develop core functionality for new and existing web-based application written predominately in PHP. You`ll be working to expand the current functionality and implement new features on our road map but also free to work on new ideas to expand the application and improve the overall usability and performance. You`ll work on both client-side and server-side code to achieve your goals. The work will also include development of HTML5 and JavaScript powered iOS, Android and Windows Phone Apps.
Skills Required
- A strong graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related subject area
- Experience building web based applications and scripts with proven portfolio work
- Highly proficient with PHP
- Have experience working in an Object-Orientated Web Frameworks
- Highly proficient with relational database design and experience with MySQL
- Have experience working in an MVC Architecture
- Have experience working in Javascript frameworks (We use jQuery)
- Have experience in web development writing clean and concise HTML 5 and CSS 3
- Good knowledge of coding practices and methodology
- Experience of using open source development platforms and libraries
- Ability to communicate ideas verbally in a coherent and impassioned manner
The following skills / attributes would be beneficial
- Experience working in a LAMP architecture
- A good understanding of user experience design including user interface design, visual design, information architecture, usability and accessibility
- Experience with testing in different browsers (Sorry, but it does need to work in IE too!)
