Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Help to plan, operationalize, and implement the AIP M&E system in collaboration with the AIP Project Manager, AIP data coordinator, country teams, research component leaders and AIP M&E team.
- Ensure documentation of project processes, research data archiving, and contribute to periodic evaluation of progress and the drawing of lessons learnt.
- Help the Project Manager to coordinate donor reporting and communications.
- Collaborate with the AIP and CIMMYT M&E team to ensure alignment between the AIP and
- CIMMYT’s Research Management Frameworks.
- Assist the AIP Project Manager to develop regular reports based on the systematic collection and analysis of monitoring information; and contribute to periodic evaluations of progress in project implementation.
- Support Project Management and implementation teams in analysis of M&E data.
- Coach field scientists on the proper management and archiving of research information according to CIMMYT protocols.
- Support the AIP project management team in the formulation of project work plans that allow systematic monitoring of progress.
- Contribute in the development of practical tools / support materials to empower scientists and partners to use and mainstream good M&E principles.
- Assist in writing up findings and contribute to progress reports.
Position Specific duties
- Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project output;
- Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
- Align project activities with and recommend further improvement of the logical frame work;
- Develop, and monitor impact indicator for the project success;
- Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies and activities and suggest strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project
- Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress reports on the project activities
- Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
- Perform other duties as required;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Skills
Expert or super user of corporate systems, MS Project, Statistical packages, GIS applications, HR systems etc.
• Proficiency in the use of specialized applications on a regular basis..
• Complex use of complex systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
