|
ContentsAlive needs services of an online content editor (work from home) on urgent basis. The Candidate must have strong knowledge about technology and IT subjects. Along with editing and proofreading, he must ensure the content is free of technical errors. In short, we desire complete technical edits of the content we provide you on daily basis. A technical edit should include review and correction of errors involving: - Spelling
- Punctuation
- Grammar
- Sentence structure (i.e., noun - verb agreement)
- Word usage (i.e., "their" "there" "you're" "your")
- Voice consistency (i.e. singular - plural "we - our" "I - my")
- Adhering to style guidelines and ensuring all content matches those guidelines
- Recommend improvements to Website copy, editorial materials, news, reviews, blogs or whatever we assign to editor. The editor must know different writing styles; for instance he/she must know how website content is different from news writing/blogging/articles/reviews.
- Ensuring that the edited version is free of errors and it’s also technically correct from all aspects. It means, the approval or disapproval of article will depend on your editing.
- You need to report daily and must be very punctual. It’s a 6 day job, with no calendar holidays in the first 3 months.
- You’ll be assigned around 6K to 8K words daily for editing. The word count can be less in some days but it’ll not be more than 8K.
- Apart from editing, you’ll also be required time to time to Publish content on WordPress, article directories like Ezinearticles, Articlebase etc. If you’re not familiar with this, fret not, we’ll train you.
Desired Skills: - Familiarity with standard PC based business systems including Microsoft Office suite - Experience of using WordPress; insert a picture, give tags, select proper category and post - Experience of using article directories, writing resource box and posting articles on them - Basic knowledge of HTML - Excellent vocabulary, grammar and proofreading skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and strict production goals – we usually have 12 hours deadline
- Must be task-oriented and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to complete technical edits using the "Track Changes" function in Microsoft Word - Ideal qualification is MA English having good knowledge of technology subjects, however, anyone having flawless English and proven track record is encouraged to apply
