1. Estimating the time required to complete the work / task and providing quotes for the clients.
2. Managing client proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production.
3. Developing design briefs that suit the client's purpose.
4. Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
5. Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients or account managers.
6. Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive design.
7. Working with clients & account managers, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales.
8. Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites.
9. Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size.
10. Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required.
11. Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.
12. Working with a range of media and keeping up to date with emerging technologies.
13. Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.
14. Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print.
15. Working as part of a team with printers, other designers, account executive and marketing specialists.
