1. The Imports and Logistics Manager will be required to handle technical details relating to possibly international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
  2. He will be required to efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy.
  3. He must have knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
  4. He must also build relationships with Logistics mediators and work closely with people involved in logistics to ensure the protection of freight in transportation.
  5. For Import and Logistics Manager, documentation and organisation is important – any changes to operating procedures, prioritisation or any problems must be documented and communicated accurately.
  6. Maintain records for accounting purposes in accordance with company procedures, including the checking of all invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and Customs regulations.
  7. Prepare reports for all import activities and recommend changes if required.
  8. Design all SOPs for import and logistics department and ensure compliance to all ISO guidelines and prepare reports to be submitted to government agencies.
  9. Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet sales requirements.
  10. Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports
  11. Monitor product import process to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  12. Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  13. Negotiate transportation rates or services.
  14. Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  15. Direct inbound logistic operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
  16. Incharge of warehouse — maintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing warehouse; supervising staff.
