The Dairy and Rural Development Foundation is a non-profit organization which manages commercial and development projects. DRDF aspires to use the income surplus from its commercial activities to fund independent / partnered development projects in the dairy and livestock sector targeting income enhancement of the bottom of the pyramid Dairy Producers by interventions through training, grants, value chain pilots, and research and development.

This position will contribute to growth and strengthening of the current commercial operations which pertains to quality genetics availability and delivery for breed improvement in the dairy sector

The prospective associate of DRDF will be given an opportunity to become a skilled professional in his/her chosen field of interest. DRDF will provide its associates challenging assignments in learning and result oriented environment.

As associate will be;

1. Expected to be an internal entrepreneur working in close association with the CEO

2. Analyzing, Assessing, Monitoring Current Operations and develop and introduce projects to grow and improve the business portfolio, revenues and bottom lines

3. Creating and Assessing future business models for integration with current operations 0R setting up new projects altogether

Eligibility Criteria(Education/Experience/Certifications)

Education – Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business/Economics/AgriBusiness. DVM/MBA/Agribusiness Certification will be preferred

Work Experience – Experience can be waived on quality demonstration of projects highlighting marketing, marketing research and consumer behavior along with demonstrated experience in one organizational function in large company. 2 years of Sales/Distribution/Field Experience related to supply chain management or Agribusiness. Experience as a team leader will be significantly preferred. Experience in at least 2 agri input chains is a pre-requisite with sound knowledge of other agri-input chains.

Self Development

The associate will be expected to conduct on an individual / group basis

1. Technical Research on related topics as are relevant to his/her professional activities (dairy farming, marketing and sales, team management, nutrition, breeding, health, etc)

2. Identify opportunities where the associate can improve and hone his/her skills and engage a colleague or mentor to progress in that skill / knowledge

Supply Chain Management

3. Effective Evaluation , Selection and Management of Suppliers

4. Monitor Product Stock Levels and Ensure non-stock outs

5. Evaluate and Execute From Source Procurements

6. Oversee and improve product transportation and distribution operations/practices

7. Develop Analytics, Systems and Data Management Capabilities including Metrics and Reports

8. Direct the hiring, training , supervision, mentoring and performance evaluations of supply chain staff

9. Manage Vendor Relationships

10. Oversee Organization Wide management of strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting and evaluation of services

11. Develop Annual Plans with prioritization and sourcing

12. Address tactical and strategic supply chain issues

13. Stay informed of advances in supply chain technology and approaches, and apply within the organization to improve supply chain processes

14. Establish Key Performance Indicators, monitor ongoing performance and improve performance against set goals

15. Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to grow the business

16. Develop and implement profit improvement plans and change management plans

17. Develop internal/external supply chain based training materials and technical manuals
