PurposeTo provide the conceptual and writing skills needed to write a proposal with which tosecure funding for the organization.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Head of the organization, and other partners inside and outsidethe organization to develop an existing concept paper into a full proposal based on programme strategy and donor interest.
• Work closely with the Head of the Organization, the project management division and thefinance division to ensure that the budget complies with donor requirements.
• Identify information gaps blocking proposal completion and secure the necessary information to complete.
• Ensure all project partners are fully aware of what information is needed.
• Develop the project proposals to produce a cohesive, credible and coordinated programme according to the agreed programme strategy.
• Provide the Head of the organization with final copies of proposal before final submission.
Selection Criteria
• Capacity to work in a multi-sector team, including coordinating technical input into proposals
• At least 5 years experience in agriculture/ food security/technology/emergency/Post conf;ict operation with experience in proposal writing skills under strict deadlines
• Ability to work rapidly with project members in various locations and remotely in writing and where necessary revising the proposal.
• Familiarity with requirements of the EC and other key donors including DFID,IDRC, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AUSAID, USAID and CIDA.
• ·Good program design skills, including capacity to prepare logical, coherent and consistent documents including log frames and budgets.
