Job Description:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Quality technical inputs for the design,implementation and monitoring of protection works at project areas;
  • Support the advocacy work at the district level on Child Protection issues;
  • Contribute in the research into the lives of children and their communities, and the policies and practices that impact upon them, with particular regard to Child Rights and Child Protection;
  • To ensure the technical guidelines on the quality of implementation of program activities are followed by the field staff;
  • Regular project area visits and to monitor gender and protection program implementation activities at filed level;
  • Support project assessments, evaluations and other reviews required in the program.
  1. Gender is a cross-cutting theme in all the programs of Progamme interventions;
  2. Review and Advise on mainstreaming gender equality and participation in each of the project;
  3. Quantify number and conduct gender based analysis for achieving project goals according to LFA/RF indicators;
  4. Quality technical inputs for the design,implementation and monitoring of gender and child protection works at Progamme sub-office.
  5. To ensure that technical guidelines are fully adhered on the design and quality implementation of Save the Children’s Protection interventions ensuring the approach is consistent with other agencies and integrated with other SC activities.
  6. To contribute in the development of the gender and protection strategy
  7. Support the advocacy work at the local,district, provincial and national level, on Child Protection issues
  8. Contribute in the research into the lives of children and their communities, and the policies and practices that impact upon them, with particular regard to Child Rights and Child Protection
  9. Capacity building of partners through comprehensive training need assessments and contributing to the partners/staff technical capacity building plans
  10. Work closely with other sectors’ specialists for integration into other programs as per the provided framework.
  11. Closely work with Monitoring, Evaluation and Research unit to ensure that gender and protection programs are monitored against already developed standards and indicators
  12. Support program assessments, evaluations and other reviews required in the program.
  13. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree in Social Science
  • At least 10 years of experience in development sector;
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in gender and child protection sector;
  •  A very good understanding of at least of key technical areas of CP programming and a working knowledge of the other sectors that include education, livelihoods and health.
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate options, and follow the strategic directions as guided.
  • In depth understanding of national development issues in particular in relation to children.
  • Ability to visit project sites in a remote mountainous areas as and when required;
  • Ability and willingness to live in an isolated conservative environment in sub-office base with other staff;
  • Fluency in English language skills will be added advantage
  • Excellent formal writing skills in English and Urdu.
