Job Description:

Assist the Security Adviser in the implementation of policies and procedures for security support to HIÂ’s programs in Pakistan. This will include the ongoing monitoring and assessment of security conditions in the country as well as ensuring that all staff understand and follow agreed procedures.

Security Management

  • Assist the Security Adviser for initiating and carrying out Risk Assessments in the country.
  • Assist the Security Adviser for developing and reviewing appropriate Security and Evacuation and Contingency Plans.
  • Assist the Security Adviser for ensuring that His security management plans are relevant and constantly updated as appropriate and that all staff know their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure the follow up and the good management of emergency boxes, First Aid Kits and all life-support materials where necessary.
  • Maintain information systems that clearly present this information to HI staff while maintaining operational security on movement information.
  • Establish network of local key informants to collect up to date information on potential security threats
  • Assist the Security Adviser in ensuring and developing office security measures
  • Assist the Security Adviser in the supervision of all HI Watchmen and drivers
  • Participation in security network of (I)NGOs, UN organizations, and GoP
  • Assist in security management by obtaining security information, road condition updates when required.
  • Maintain the updated staff contact list and contact list of security updates.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the Security Adviser.
Training
  • Assist the Security Adviser in setting up different trainings related to security issues
  • Must be able to provide training to national staff including security guards and drivers.
  • Ensure that every new HI staff is provided with necessary briefing and training
  • Participate in any necessary training for work in Pakistan.

Networking
  • Establish networks with other NGOÂ’s and UN agencies regarding security and establish an information exchange network.
  • Develop and maintain strong contacts with military authorities as appropriate and in line with HI statements of Operational Guidelines relating to cooperation with Govt security agencies.
  • Maintain contact with HI field office & Partner Organizations regarding incident reporting and situation updating
  • Attend any meeting considered useful by the Security Adviser
 
Skills Required:
 
At least 5 years overseas experience working with NGOs
At least 3 years experience in leading and ensuring security management
Experience in field assessment
Good analytical and redaction skills
Languages english/urdu/pashto

Contract duration 4 months minimum
