Responsibilities include designing, maintenance, implementation & administration of data-centers infrastructure for database servers to provide high-availability(HA), automatic fail-over, data-consolidation, distributed-availability & load distribution of OLTP database for mission critical applications Installation, configuration and maintenance of large database servers on UNIX/Linux/Sun Solaris platforms Management of database servers and devising backup strategies i.e. zero level, incremental backups using on tape & crontab utility, db export/db import, load/unload etc Responsible to perform query optimization, database design and provide support in writing complex queries, stored procedures/functions, views, DDL/DML scripts review/feedback to other teams Responsible to perform all kind of other database administration activities Responsible to maintain a good, healthy & friendly team environment by using his soft skills
