• System administration of Asterisk PBX servers located globally.
  • Work with team to perform to ensure security of all VoIP devices and servers, perform updates/fix.
  • Work with team to ensure service quality, redundancy of voice paths and service optimization.
  • Review performance/resource utilization graphs for all Asterisk PBX systems and report for decision making.
  • Perform monitoring of voice infrastructure which includes production servers, network paths, connectivity Storage, and voice quality/paths, from troubleshooting to until issue is fixed.
  • Updating Cisco phone firmware with the latest and stable release through Cisco CCO account.
  • Understanding dial-plan and Asterisk applications.
  • Review bandwidth and resource utilization and make recommendations on best voice codec combination selection.
  • Creation of extensions, queues, voice mailboxes, IAX and SIP trunks for normal operations.
  • Perform continuous research work on latest technologies for improving our voice infrastructure and self skills by attend internal technical and domain trainings.
  • Build skills for backup and performance tuning VoIP platform
  • Ensure that all voice components that we have in our infrastructure must have redundancy within data centre and across the data centre, let management know if there is any system with redundancy within or across data center.
  • Work with team to improve scripting and automation skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Characteristics

  • Good analytical and arithmetic skills
  • Good subject knowledge either in computer science or telecommunication
  • Good programming skills
  • Having knowledge in VoIP and Asterisk will be plus.
  • Following certifications will be plus point for this position.
  • RHCE Certified
