· Perform lead role in reviewing vendor proposals and making recommendations.

· Capable of complex capacity planning, analysis and engineering design changes.

· Lead implementation and deployment efforts on large projects.

· Develop and interpret data network design and solutions to meet immediate and future business needs

· Creation of technical solutions, high level and detailed design documentation based upon a wide range of technologies required to meet customer & business requirements

· Tendering and quotation activities

· Managing individual Telecommunications Engineering projects

· Provide mentoring and coaching to junior members of staff

· Ensure projects maintain alignment with the project and business objectives

· Maintaining a good working relationship with the business and customer(s)

· Identify / escalate to Engineering Manager, Programme Manager, Business / Customer, potential and affecting issues

· To contribute to the overall development and growth of IBEX Group.

· Possess a recognized tertiary qualification, Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronic, Electrical

· Solid understanding and background in end to end telecommunication systems across multiple technology domains: SDH / Ethernet / IP / MPLS / DWDM / CWDM / WiMAX

· Expert routing and switching knowledge

· Expert understanding of hardware, software, and networking components of local, wide area and IP-based telephony networks.

· Expert design experience pertaining to IP Data & Voice Networks.

· Advanced knowledge of MPLS, DMVPN, Carrier /Edge connectivity.

· Min. 5-7 years' experience in telecommunications engineering for a carrier or vendor.

· Demonstrated ability in the planning and design of complex telecommunications systems in a commercial/industrial environment including data telecommunications and network management on both Greenfield and Brownfield projects

· Experience is producing detailed design documentation i.e., system designs, cabling schematics, IP schemas, rack layouts etc.

· Excellent skills to analyze, define and implement telecommunications management processes working with both the customer and internal teams to meet customer KPI's.

· Appreciation of network rollout processes.

· Strong technical background in design and deployment.

· Ability to understand and interpret business goals, direction and strategy

· Excellent interpersonal skills; advanced written and oral communication skills.

· IP Certification is desirable i.e., Cisco CCNP / CCVP / CCDP

· Experience and competency in presenting to C-Level executives.

· Confidence to recommend actions and/or designs that will impact other units within the company

· Work outside immediate discipline to coordinate a group of people in troubleshooting a wide-scale problem; serve as point-of-contact across several areas or disciplines to solve major network outages with high impact or visibility.

· Expert knowledge of how new or upgraded product solution will improve current business operations to prepare users for implementation.

· Develop plans for disaster recovery.

· Define deployment objectives and monitoring overall implementation plan, timing, budget, and key milestones for multiple projects.

· Collaborate with customers to define deployment expectations and ensuring consistency with strategic direction.

· Coach others in the execution of the testing, piloting, installation and implementation activities on schedule and within budget, and providing expertise when needed.
