Job Description:

The post holder will serve as a Technical training officer and ensure that the objectives/results of the skills training and employment components of the project are met to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries. The job demands frequent interaction with and provision of technical support to the outsource trainers and other actors involved in the sector including the government and training institutes in Karachi. The Technical Officer reports directly to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • To lead on establishing baseline information of the project in general and development of workshops in particular
  • To provide technical support to outsource trainers, project team and ensure that appropriate support systems and skills training that can lead to economic self-reliance of target groups is provided by project team.
  • To identify technical gaps that affect the attainment of the project objectives and results and initiate specific, innovative and practical measures that need to be taken by implementing partners
  • To provide conceptual and practical framework needed for planning and implementation.
  • To prepare and provide checklists for establishing and running quality and appropriate Training sessions and employment initiatives by implementing partners
  • Provide support to project staff to develop course curriculum and applying appropriate project implementation approaches as indicated in the action of the project, utilizing appropriate and relevant skills training curricula and linking training with employment opportunities
  • Provide technical support to the project staff in introducing ongoing Life skill training and implementing effective and innovative Employment Promotion Services

Provide technical support, guidance and develop the implementation process for:
(i) building competency-based assessment procedures (including internal and external assessment);
(ii) upgrading of the training curriculum and teaching methodologies including the application of a competency-based curriculum for training up to 5 trades/skills areas.

  • Ensure standardization of project this include the area of training content (training materials), approaches, assessment of competency and certification.
  • Plan and facilitate studies, researches, assessments, reviews and evaluation.

To Ensure that an appropriate quality monitoring system is developed and utilized by all the project staff and ensure timely production of the project monitoring reports.

  • To organize and facilitate technical meetings/workshops to staff involved in delivering the training and Employment part of the project
  • To prepare project technical reports relating to activities carried out by project team with respect to the tasks assigned to it
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by his/her line manager.
