Specific Roles and Responsibilities: 

1: Publications planning, production and dissemination Detail Actions: 

  •  Support programme teams to draw up timelines for producing a publication; advice on copy editing and translation 
  •  Assist with the planning of publications produced by the organization 
  •  Support the production of cost-effective iACT publications and resources. This includes: 1.Checking style content and design; monitoring the amendment process to prepare for final  publication; monitoring sign off by programme teams at key production stages. 2. Ensuring compatibility of artwork files between designers and printers 
  •  Support teams to plan the dissemination of new resources, and provide input on alternative methods for dissemination and promotion
  •  Monitor new trends in publications production and dissemination to support the development of high quality, effective communications 
  • Arrange dissemination of hard copy publications and resources when required 

2: Maintain and update publications systems Detail Actions: 

  • Maintain and update guidelines for planning, producing and disseminating publications and resources, incorporating lessons learnt 
  • Ensure that publications are produced in line with iACT’s environmental policy 
  • Maintain copies of publications in iACT’s library and archives 
  • Maintain the resources area of the website, ensuring it is up-to-date 
  •  Provide research and editing support to Head and coordinators for developing:
  • Project reports 
  • Research articles
  • In house publication 
  • Marketing material

3: Support communications projects 

  • Write, edit and proof read a range of communications products and projects 
  • Support other members of the communications team to update and develop other areas of iACT’s website 
  • Provide other ad hoc support to implement the communications strategy  Provide ad hoc communications support to other teams across iACT where possible.

Qualification:

Masters preferably in English language. Must have excellent English and Urdu writing skills.  At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience 

At least two years’ relevant experience in a publications production and/or communications role, ideally within the NGO sector.
