| Job Description: |
|
- Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non- customers.
- Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
- Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
- Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.
- Eliciting software requirements using a Roadmap document (a high level Product Requirements Document) and an elaborate Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for the software engineering/development group for subsequent design, development, and testing activities.
- Keeping a close eye on competitor products (Hands on competitor software usage)- Creating use cases / applications on these products.
Education Required:
Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
Experience: - Experience with different software products covering at least 3 of the mentioned horizontals with solid understanding of strengths and weaknesses in terms of features, performance and usability.
- Empathy with different user groups i.e., must be able to relate to the end-users when developing specifications for new features.
- Overall 8 years of experience with at least 3 years in product management or hands-on application deployment, maintenance or management in the mentioned horizontals.
- Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus.
- This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites all across the globe.
Preferences:
- Hands on leading products in industrial automation technology : Invensys Wonder Ware, Rockwell Factory Talk, OSI PI, Honeywell, ABB, Allen- Bradley
- Good knowledge of PLCs, DCSs, RTUs
