In order to strengthen the peace building impact of the private sector in Pakistan, International Alert, in partnership with Responsible Business Initiative (RBI), is implementing a 2 year European Union funded pilot project to understand and strengthen the capacities of key business change agents. Building on international experiences in private sector engagement for peace, the project intends to work with the business sector as well as key non-state actors whose support and influential voice is critical for processes of community cohesion, regional integration and the promotion of good economic governance all of which are critical to enhanced state stability and long-term peace building. International Alert is a 26-year old independent peace building organization with base in London and over 15 field offices worldwide. Alert is a world leader in supporting business for peace alliances in conflict-affected countries and strives to enhance the peace building potential of a variety of economic interventions such as conduct and investment of private companies, the international communitys economic recovery efforts and government policies and practices. Responsible Business Initiative (RBI) is Pakistans only CSR specific think tank and enabler, directly involved with research, appraisal, benchmarking, sustainability disclosures, multi-stakeholder engagement, training and capacity-building interventions on sustainability and responsible entrepreneurship in the business sector. The National Senior Project Coordinator will play an integral role in the implementation this project, which includes coordination of dialogue events, research, advocacy and capacity development of selected private sector constituencies to become key change agents who will play a multiplier function within reputed business networks and associations in support of wider peace and stability. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be working alongside partners in Pakistan and the team in London to ensure the effective implementation of the project. The National Senior Coordinator will report to RBI (as the technical partner for the implementation of the project) with backstopping from Alert London. Duties and Responsibilities Program and financial management: Ensure timely implementation and delivery of key activities, including partner progress and impact reporting; Manage the activity project funds, ensuring that contractors establish and maintain effective systems for financial reporting on grants and follow EC audit compliance regulations; Assist in the technical backstopping for the operational activities of the EC funded Plural Business Partnerships for Peace project to partners and consultants on effective and efficient implementation of the EC project; Assist in the identifying co-financing opportunities for the project Stakeholder coordination: Support to the project Steering Committee and facilitation of quarterly meetings Regular liaison with all relevant project associates and contractors involved in the implementation Liaison with key government officials, civil society representatives and selected Donors with relevance for the project Management of overseas visitors to the project, including logistics and security arrangements Progress reporting: Regular context updates on social and political development in Pakistan of relevance for the project Support of the projects M&E systems, including regular impact reporting against logframe or impact indicators and support of external evaluations High quality impact reporting on project progress, key achievement and lesson learnt Support in publishing of key policy recommendations for project stakeholder as well as international development partners such as the EC
