In order to strengthen the peace building impact of the private sector in Pakistan, International Alert, in partnership with Responsible Business Initiative (RBI), is implementing a 2 year European Union funded pilot project to understand and strengthen the capacities of key business change agents. Building on international experiences in private sector engagement for peace, the project intends to work with the business sector as well as key non-state actors whose support and influential voice is critical for processes of community cohesion, regional integration and the promotion of good economic governance all of which are critical to enhanced state stability and long-term peace building.
International Alert is a 26-year old independent peace building organization with base in London and over 15 field offices worldwide. Alert is a world leader in supporting business for peace alliances in conflict-affected countries and strives to enhance the peace building potential of a variety of economic interventions such as conduct and investment of private companies, the international communitys economic recovery efforts and government policies and practices.
Responsible Business Initiative (RBI) is Pakistans only CSR specific think tank and enabler, directly involved with research, appraisal, benchmarking, sustainability disclosures, multi-stakeholder engagement, training and capacity-building interventions on sustainability and responsible entrepreneurship in the business sector.
The National Senior Project Coordinator will play an integral role in the implementation this project, which includes coordination of dialogue events, research, advocacy and capacity development of selected private sector constituencies to become key change agents who will play a multiplier function within reputed business networks and associations in support of wider peace and stability.
