Job Description:

The Female Medical Officer will be primarily responsible for providing curative and preventive services to the patients, to perform minor surgical procedures and to provide basic EmOC services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide curative, preventive and basic EmOC services especially to Female patients following MOH or international recognized treatment protocols.
  2. Also provide preventive and curative services to children.
  3. Supervise activities of LHV, RN and other IRC health staff in health facility.
  4. Ensure universal precautions for infection prevention.
  5. Perform minor surgical procedures i.e. episiotomy, dressing, stitching, abscess drainage etc.
  6. Ensure in a daily basis that medicines, medical supplies and equipments are available for the team.
  7. Refer patients when diagnosis or treatment is not possible in the site. Arrange/facilitate for the ambulance services to transport the patients to the nearest referral health facility.
  8. Make timely request of supplies, equipment and medicine.
  9. Cooperate with the medical program managers/supervisors related to their activities.
  10. Attend IRC trainings and programs meetings as required.
  11. Prepare statistics and reports of the program.
  12. Perform any other task assigned by line supervisor.
 
Skills Required:
 
- MBBS

- Registration with PMDC

- At least 1-2 years of working experience in the relevant field

- Preferably work experience in emergency situations and Gynae/Obs.
