|
The Grievance/Help Desk officer, under the supervision of Senior. Protection officer, is primarily responsible for IDP protection in targeted Areas. They will work in close collaboration of UN agencies, govt. authorities and relevant stakeholders to make sure that affected population rights are fully protected under national and international laws. Grievance / Help Desk Services - Record issues faced by IDPs (including issues during the registration/verification process, data not shifted properly to the return area, tent block, food block, family tree change, IDPs missed from a survey or assistance, etc.) and provide necessary information in response to reported issues
- Update and correct IDP records and share that information with relevant agencies, including UNHCR and PDMA, for assistance
- With support from Information Officer, Registration Officers, and Protection Officers collect and compile up-to-date information on registration, camp records, services available in the camp, and the return process (including about the documents necessary for registration; return package, and durable solutions; the situation in return areas, safe and unsafe areas, etc.)
- Provide information and advice on issues related to registration, camp records, services available in the camp, and the return process
- Refer beneficiaries seeking registration or voluntary return to the IRC Registration Officers
- Refer EVIs to the IRC Protection Officers or to relevant service providers for assistance
- Provide advice on the appropriate procedures and referral to relevant services for IDPs who have returned to the camp due to perceptions of insecurity in their area of origin or for other reasons.
- Share information collected and grievances documented with the relevant organizations for response, as necessary, as well as with UNHCR
Experience: At least one year Field work experience. Skills: - Excellent English and good knowledge of Local language is essential
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Knowledge of national law and/or human rights principles
- Computer skills including MS- Office
- Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities;
- Willingness to travel within Pakistan;
- A commitment to protecting human rights.
PREFERENCE: 1 year of working experience with UN agencies, International NGO or Institution.
