We are sourcing candidates for the role of IT Manager for one of our new projects. Please note this role is contingent to funding approval which we expect to be granted by November 2015.

SUMMARY:

The IT Manager’s primary responsibility will be initially to set up the I.T Unit in IRC Punjab office to provide support to IRC programs and meet IT needs on day to day. He/she shall be responsible to provide training identified by staff members.

Under the supervision of the Project Director for Pak Pattan and in coordination with the IT Coordinator, the job holder will be responsible to set up IT systems to provide support to ensure that IRC programs meet IT needs. He/ she will be responsible to prove technical support to program and operations staff to meet their day to day IT needs and ensure provision of adequate IT equipment across the programs. He/she shall be responsible to provide training staff members in efficient / effective use of IT Systems / Equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Infrastructure Duties

  • · Manage the design, development and installation of information systems ie IT infrastructure, application infrastructure, mailing systems, operation and related services in collaboration with the IT department, in order to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • · Administer the office Active Directory user environment and coordinate with IT Coordinator for determining levels of user access.
  • · Provide technical documentation of all system architecture in use and in development, including network diagrams and Active Directory schema and group policies.
  • · Review internet connectivity and computer hardware to be compliant with IRC minimum standards in a timely manner.
  • · Configure, deploy and maintain all network equipment for offices and field sites; configure all intra-office network protocols in use.
  • · Maintain user data and email backup mechanisms for ensuring redundancy of all vital operations data; coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator the schedule and delivery of backup information off-site.
  • · Implement and ensure compliance of security policies and processes

IT Support Duties

  • · Provide technical assistance for staff for all PC hardware, software and associated peripherals.
  • · Log support requests and document their outcome to assist in the resolution of common queries.
  • · Install and configure operating systems and IRC-approved software packages to the agreed standards of IRC global operations.
  • · Maintain existing computer equipment to the agreed standards of IRC global operations by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures.
  • · Coordinate with HR department for creation and suspension of new user accounts/e-mail, and with Logistics department for allocation of IT-related assets.
  • · Create, manage and maintain hardware inventory database
  • · Perform and maintain operating systems and office application suites on all user workstations. Ensure that security updates are properly being applied and that workstations remain up-to-date.
  • · Monitor workstation usage to ensure that users remain within the confines of the IRC Acceptable Usage Policy.
  • · Assist in finalizing strategy of emergency IT deployment in emergency disaster response.
  • · Ensure compliance with IRC policy by all computer users.

Common Duties

  • · Ensure that all IRC Pakistan staff remain in compliance with all IRC Global and IRC Pakistan Security Policies, IT Acceptable Usage Policy and Mandatory Reporting Policy as it pertains to IT.
  • · Participate and represent the IT department in any IRC Pakistan all staff meetings
  • · Follow and adapt any new procedures/guidelines designated by DDOP or IT Coordinator.
  • · Assist in an IT capacity for any program-related duties as requested.

Skills

• Sound knowledge and experience in handling networks, servers.
• Training delivery experience
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability and willing to travel to fields
• Ability to work under extreme work pressures.
