| Job Description: |
|
The Medical Officer will be primarily responsible for providing curative and preventive services to the patients, to perform minor surgical procedures and to provide basic EMOC services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide curative and preventive services especially to Male patients and children following MOH or international recognized treatment protocols.
- To manage and supervise staff according to standard IRC guidelines including performance management, job orientation, capacity building, support in recruitment process and grievance handling.
- Supervise activities of other team members
- Maintain universal precautions for infection prevention
- Perform minor surgical procedures i.e. dressing, stitching, abscess drainage etc.
- Ensure in a daily basis that medicines, medical supplies and equipments are available for the team
- Refer patients when diagnosis or treatment is not possible in the site. Arrange/facilitate for the shuttle services to transport the patients to the nearest referral health facility.
- Make timely request of supplies, equipment and medicine.
- Cooperate with the medical program managers/supervisors related to their activities.
- Attend IRC trainings and programs meetings as required.
- Prepare statistics and reports of the program.
- Perform any other task assigned by line supervisor.supervisor.
