Job Description:
  • Responsible for initial planning of field work
  • Responsible for supervision of six supervisors
  • Responsible that data is collected on-time and according to protocol
  • Responsible for oversight of security for the entire IVAP team, including securing security approval.
  • Responsible that all admin, logs and finance policies and activities are completed by the field team (per JDs) and done correctly
  • Responsible for coordination with IRC operations teams for any IVAP field team related matter
  • Responsible for active and consistent communication (weekly team meetings, clear planning schedules, etc) with field teams
  • Responsible for oversight in the field
  • Responsible for hiring of survey team with the coordinator as well as all team structure and weekly planning/reporting
  • Responsible for PRs for team vehicles, accommodation and other supplies.
  • Master a comprehensive training to ensure full comprehension of IRC rules and regulations, security protocols and IVAP field Standard Operating Procedures
  • In coordination with other Team Leaders and the Coordinator, ensure appropriate training for all team members, raising alerts around any gaps
  • Conduct oneself with respect in all work with IRC, treating all persons (particularly IDPs and other team members) with dignity and professionalism
  • Ensure your respective teams follow IRCs security protocol and IVAP standard operating procedures at all times, report security concerns immediately to the Coordinator
  • Take direction from and complete all tasks required by the Coordinator
  • Directly supervise six Assessment Team Supervisors, who in turn are each responsible for an assessment team of 8 persons
  • Lead your respective survey teams by example, participating with the teams in all processes of learning from training to field work to data management
  • Maintain daily contact and tracking of each field team either by presence with them in the field and reporting back to the Coordinator, or by telephone tracking on a daily basis when not in the field
  • Hold weekly meetings with Team Supervisors to address survey, security, operational and other work concerns, follow up on concerns with the Coordinator
  • Working with the Team Supervisors and the Team Leader for Quality and Usage, identify capacities within your teams which need reinforcement; recommend appropriate trainings or management modifications, design and carry out trainings, or other pragmatic solutions to address these concerns.
  • Weekly compile the total number of households surveyed by your teams, their locations, remaining estimated caseload, and suggestions for the next weeks survey and submit a short report to the Coordinator and the Team Leader for Quality and Usage
  • Track and approve the leave time of those who report directly to you, according to IRC policy
  • Complete the PMP system with each person you directly supervise, with mid-term review after 3 months
 
Skills Required:
 
--Can understand and speak Pushto

--Fluency in English

--Flexible and able to work/travel in the field on a daily basis, able to stay for up to one month in a field location outside of your hired location

--Respectful of local norms and culture, and willing to follow these norms while in the field

--Candidates originating from Kohat/Hangu strongly preferred
