OverView :

To improve the health of women, newborns and children in Sindh Province, Component 2 of USAID/Pakistan’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program, the MNCH Services Project aims to improve the quality of public and private sector health services. Healthcare providers will be trained; health facilities renovated and services will be expanded and improved. We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems.The Project is implemented by the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), USAID’s flagship program and a consortium led by Jhpiego with Save the Children and John Snow, Inc. (JSI) as associate partners. It works closely with the Government of Sindh Department of Health, local implementing partners and private sector organizations. Worldwide, MCHIP works in more than 40 countries to promote innovative approaches to save lives, focusing on those interventions that result in the greatest impact.By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Project Focal Point in district
  • Maintain coordination with Deputy Commissioner, District Health Officer, Focal Person MNCH, Population Welfare Officer, Coordinator LHW Program, DSM PPHI, district coordinators of other MCH component partners at district level
  • Provide supportive supervision and technical assistance to Sub-awardee in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Support the sub-awardee in developing the work plan and setting targets
  • Coordinate with MCHIP Karachi office for seeking guideline and providing update regarding the implementation of work plan
  • Ensure the timely sharing of work plan / activity calendar by the sub-awardee and Mchip Technical team in district
  • Ensure data collection and reporting from designated health facilities
  • Prepare / Compile monthly reports in accordance with work plan
  • Act as a team leader of district level technical team (Mchip staff) and provide them support in planning and management
  • Provide Supportive supervision and Process Monitoring of activities at field level in order to ensure the accurate translation of strategies into activities at ground level.
  • Facilitate the visits by Donor / Mchip partners as and when required by Head Office
  • Represent the Mchip/Jhpiego at district level at all relevant forums including MMC, DHMPT, DHN, MRM etc

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate or equivalent degree in Social or Management Sciences. Master degree will be preferred
  • Minimum 03 year of coordination & project management experience especially in Health Sector (Experience in Maternal Newborn & Child Health would be an advantage)
  • Should have preferably worked in project or field related activities
  • Should have a good working experience of managing sub-awardee
  • The candidate must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with an ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, team management, ICT & report writing skills
