Overview:

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University is implementing Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program to introduce and scale up high-impact maternal, newborn and child health interventions in Sindh Province. Jhpiego seeks suitable candidates for the following position, based in Karachi of Sindh province.Program Assistant provides administrative and management assistance to the MCHIP Program team.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and ensure the collection of all periodic reports from the district office
  • Ensure timely processing of logistic / financial request received from the field.
  • Contribution to the evaluation of training through issuance and receipt of pre and post course evaluation forms and its compilation.
  • Keep record about each training course, trainer and participants
  • Compile received data for onward submission
  • Maintain the project files both in the form of hard copies as well as electronic copies.
  • facilitate travel & lodging arrangements of field implementation teams.
  • Organize / Coordinate meetings and take minutes accordingly
  • Maintain database of health facilities as advised by supervisor
  • Maintain inventory of project equipment and supplied to field offices / health facilities.
  • Perform any other task / duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, business, management, or another related field. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or other data management software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of any SMS hub software such as Frontlines SMS, Text It, Tele rivet or other similar software is desirable but not necessary.
  • At least two years’ experience of increasing responsible positions with administration and office management with an international organization.
  • Ability to work independently (proactive and with a good sense of initiative).
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with a service oriented outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Sindhi.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in multi- cultural environment.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts in other agencies and organizations worldwide.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
  • Willingness to work on a wide range of tasks.
  • Ability to work long hours where there is need.

We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems. By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan. Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exit in the USAID/Pakistan projects.
