Overview:

The MNCH Services Project, a component of USAID/Pakistans Maternal and Child Health Program, implemented by Jhpiego and its partners Save the Children and John Snow Incorporated (JSI), will span the period from 2013-2017. The objective of the MNCH Services Project is to increase access to health services for mothers and children in Sindh and Punjab through (a) building capacity of health workers to deliver high-quality family planning, maternal, newborn and child health services and (b) improving quality and coverage of those health services. The Provincial Training and Quality Assurance Officers will play key roles in meeting these program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with partners at the district level (government, partner organizations, professional associations, and others) to promote joint planning, implementation and analysis of program training and quality activities in assigned district
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to conduct training need assessments and plan trainings per assessment in selected districts
  • Coordinate the process of strengthening selected training sites
  • Develop annual training plan for Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric & Newborn Care (CEmONC) staff and prepare training schedules quarterly and monthly
  • Undertake ongoing field visits throughout the districts for the participation in, or monitoring of, trainings and quality assurance related project activities. Prepare routine reports on results of visits and for project progress
  • Attend and facilitate periodical reviews at provincial and district levels
  • Ensure coordination and facilitation within the other program areas Newborn child health, immunization, nutrition, and community mobilization at all applicable levels
  • Keep record of all trainings at Comprehensive facility level to collect the training reports, develop data base and send these to communication for reporting to donor
  • Assemble and arrange all MNCH including cesarean section and blood transfusion related materials and provides updated information on training and logistics of the trainings
  • Ensures that project activities are in accordance with plans of action
  • Regular review of action plans of the Comprehensive level care facilities on monthly basis
  • Coaching and mentoring on infection prevention, care in Operating Theatre and Caesarean skills
  • Regular periodic assessments of CEmONC facilities
  • Make list of procurement for CEmONC facilities based on assessments
  • Develop capacity building plan for the CEmONC
  • Working closely with the blood banks of authorized blood banks in the district to resolve day to day issues for blood screening and arrangements
  • Represent MCHIP in different MNCH related meetings
  • Support district teams in organizing referral feedback meetings with CEmONC facilities
  • Support district team to coordinate with CEmONC facility for any hands on training for MNCH centers staff
  • Any other work assigned by the supervisor related to trainings.

Skills Required

  • M.B.B.S degree inGynae and obstetric with strong MNCH trainings background.
  • Computer knowledge about MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, emails and other programmers desirable.
  • Proven experience with field-based trainings.
  • Ability to follow tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and communication skills in English and Urdu. Working knowledge of Sindhi will be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
