Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1)      To study the case history of each trainee regarding parental, medical history, etc. & avoid shairing it without approval from department head.

 2)      To develop and implement the IEP(Individual Educational Program) according to the capabilities of each trainee.

 3)      To supervise and manage 3 class rooms and administer the implementation IEPs as assigned by the academics manager.

 4)      To enforce rules for behavior to maintain order among trainees.

5)      To work on trainee’s behavior modification & management and to improve  trainee’s social skills and disciplinary acts.

6)      To assist trainee in developing good habits, including that of personal hygiene.

7)      Develop ways of motivational curriculum based on techniques required for IEP on a monthly basis. Coordinate with skill teacher, class teacher and assistant teacher (if any) and discuss the trainee performance based on the IEP.

8)      Assist and facilitate with immediate measures aid in case of observance of problems (physical or personal behavioral nature, medical emergency) with the trainee anywhere in the centre.

9)      To maintain and follow up diary (home work & communication with Parents/Guardian) of each trainee.

10)  To update & maintain soft boards and star charts for their classrooms.

11)  Monitor attendance of the classes under supervision and update attendance register.

12)  Attend parents’ teacher meeting, participate and actively communicate necessary information regarding trainee progress and needs.

13)  Completes report cards and progress reports of each trainee’s progress in a given time period assigned by the academic manager.

14)  To supervise and actively participate in setting duties including Assembly, ground activities, outings, in house activities, events etc.

15)  To represent their duties, trainees performance and entire class environment to the outside visitors.

16)  To provide followup of IEP to the academic manager on monthly basis.

17)  To observe the performance of intern(s) under supervision and provide suitable training for the development of skills and to improve the performance.

18)  To prepare monthly report of the intern(s) and forwarding to the academics manager.

 19)  And any other task assigned by the Academic Manager.

We have recently joined NOW PDP, a platform that strives to find employment for disabled people. Like any other organization, KVTCs work has a financial burden to it, especially for an organization running mostly on charity. KVTC considers itself blessed with some openhearted friends who have given us the strength to carry on so far, but rising costs of all essentials like training material, fuel, utilities, & food items have made it extremely difficult for us to carry on with our work. Day by day, our problems increase as we run short of funds even for routine operating activities & at times, find it next to impossible to pay staff salaries. We are now at a stage where we need solid, committed support to make a much-needed significant impact in Pakistan at large regarding the intellectually challenged person's place in our society as deserving, independent, & contributing citizens.
