Main Responsibilities:

 

  • · Provide academic advising to new students (e.g., evaluate transcripts; develop plans of study, etc.).
  • · Provide academic advising to returning students, individually or in groups, about university and business school’s policies, programmes of study and degree options such as Accounting and Finance (ACF) and Management Science (MGS).
  • · Provide students with information about alternatives and possible consequences of academic decisions.
  • · Support career services by counseling students on career options and guiding their development of job search skills.
  • · Establish and maintain relationships with assigned Programme Director and Coordinators to understand and clarify programmes expectations. Maintain current knowledge of the two streams of Accounting and Finance (ACF) and Management Science (MGS).
  • · Work closely with the Programme Coordination Office (PCO), Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and Registrar’s Office (RO) to connect students to academic support.
  • · Complete other advising duties as requested such as: track retention, authorize add/drops, and conduct degree audits.
  • · Maintain an up-to-date Advising Portfolio, with a summary record of performance to date (grade reports, transcript, requirements completed, etc.).
  • · Participate in undergraduate committee meetings as and when required.
  • · Plan for extended work hours during pre-registration and other phases which require extensive advising to students
