| Job Description: |
|
- Seek potential clients/suppliers in import/export/trading market, within and outside Pakistan;
- Evaluate bids and proposals by potential clients/suppliers and give recommendations to the management;
- Manage and coordinate entire Import/ Export functions including preparation of Import/Export orders and follow up with customers/suppliers;
- Ensure that all documentation, job costing and billing conform to internal and external requirements and are processed in a cost effective and timely manner;
- Assess export/import compliance risks and manage such risks;
- Manage inspection, shipping, handling, and packaging of supplies and equipment;
- Interact, liaise and follow up with government departments and service providers including Customs, SBP, Shipping Companies, Customs Clearing Agents; and
- Maintain excellent relationship with government departments to manage clearances and approvals in shortest possible time and at minimum costs.
- This is not an exhaustive list; the selected individual may be required to perform other related duties as assigned by his supervisor.
The Candidate:
- Should possess a university degree, preferably in engineering and/or management disciplines;
- Must have at least 10 years experience in a similar role in a large organization;
- Preferably be between 35 and 40 years of age;
- Must be capable of operating independently with little or no guidance;
- Should be business minded, creative, team player with leadership skills;
- Must have exceptionally good marketing skills to be able to seek new clients / suppliers;
- Must have thorough knowledge of import/export regulations, rules and procedures;
- Must be able to deal with foreign suppliers/customers;
- Must be well versed with and experienced in international logistics via sea, air and road;
- Exposure to export/import operations in the FMCG companies will be an added plus;
- Must possess excellent administrative and managerial skills with excellent customer service attitude;
- Must have excellent proficiency in operating various computer applications required for the job;
- Very presentable, responsible and dedicated with strong work management habits and discipline; and
- Must have excellent English comprehension in oral and written communication. This requirement is mandatory.
The position is Lahore based. However, frequent traveling to Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and other cities will be involved.
