Job Description:
Position: District CMAM-NMIS Assistant
Location: Peshawar
Responsible to: Central NMIS Coordinator, Provincial & Country Nutrition Coordinator
Working with: District Nutrition Coordinators.

Capacities required:

  • Advance knowledge of computing skills i.e. Operating system, MS-Office Excel in particular, E-mail &Internet Applications.
  • Well versed with UNICEF’s Nutrition Information System (NIS).
  • Advance knowledge of CMAM reporting needs and Data compilation.
  • Flexibility is required regarding the working hours
  • To be ready to any change according to the needs and the objectives of the program
  • Ready to follow entirely Merlin’s regulations
  • Strong commitment to work on humanitarian vision

Objectives:

  • To manage the MIS and DATA reporting needs of district CMAM Program.
  • To ensure regular reporting of daily, weekly and Monthly CMAM formats/Data.
  • Analysis of CMAM Performance Indicators and sharing the results with all concerned, including donors.
  • Coordination with district nutrition supervisors and collection of district level CMAM reports (daily, weekly,monthly and as required) and share with all.

Overall Responsibilities

  • To ensure smooth functioning of Nutrition Information System, collection of CMAM Data from respective CMAM site through male Health Promoter/Community Mobilizers or Nutrition Supervisor,compilation, analysis of performance indicators and reports generation& sharing with all concerned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure smooth reporting of country level CMAM data on specified formats (Old Excel Version of CMAM Data base+ NIS) to all concerned including District, Provincial office weekly,monthly or as required basis.
  • Ensure that the communication flow is maintained with District/ Provincial level focal points and Data/reports collected, cleaned, compiled and analyzed before sharing with National CMAM MIS focal points.
  • Ensure that the Nutrition information System (NIS) remains functional at district level.
  • Develop and maintain CMAM data flow from project sites (districts) at any asked time to National NMIS Coordinator and vice versa. (both Old excel database and NIS)
  • Generate weekly, monthly and end of the project reports reflecting the key performance indicators as per CMAM protocols.
  • Represent MERLIN Data and Performance indicators at Weekly meetings.
  • Training of newly inducted staff on NIS and excel based CMAM data base. Refresher trainings for existing staff as needed.
  • Share FBF utilization reports(monthly or as required) with WFP.
  • Coordinate with Health Facility Reporting Staff and Provincial or District Nutrition coordinators for defaults or unexpected deviation in trends of performance indicators.
  • Respond to Data inquiries from field and concerned staff.
  • He/She will maintain regular supply all CMAM relevant Stationary, reporting formats and IT tools to the district hubs.
  • He/She will maintain an updated inventory of all CMAM relevant supplies at district level.
  • He/she will keep tract of supplies of UNIMIX/Plumpy nuts and Medicines from donor partners and inform regional office regarding replenishment needs well in time.
  • Other tasks as designated by the districtor Provincial.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION:

The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the MIS focal point. The incumbent must also demonstrate the following personal attributes:

  • Msc IT or Computer Science with CMAM experience OR B.Sc computer Science with strong CMAM Background.
  • Well versed with UNICEF “NIS”software and CMAM Reporting tools.
  • Minimum 2 years of CMAM Data collection and reporting experience with an NGO.
  • Supervisory skills and  team building
  • Analytical and problem solving skills & decision making skills
  • Effective verbal and listening & communications skills
  • Effective written communications skills
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized Accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level

Advantageous

  • Previous experience of CMAM and NIS.
  • Previous experience working with INGO’s/NGO’s.
  • Advanced computing skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, NIS)
