On a daily basis you might:
1. Re-write news/articles to make them clearer or shorter
2. Make sure new/articles follow the publication’s house style
3. Write headlines, captions and short paragraphs which lead in to articles, and ‘panels’ which break up the text
4. Make sure articles are in the right place on each page
