We’re currently seeking a Front-End Web Developer to help us conceptualize, problem-solve, develop, and execute interactive, user-focused websites for desktop, mobile, and beyond. This position will be part of a cross-disciplinary web team, including information architects, designers, content specialists, and other web developers.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Hand-codes semantic, accessible, cross-browser, platform, and device compatible websites using HTML (HTML 5), CSS (CSS 3), and JavaScript (jQuery).
- Transforms designs from Photoshop into optimized, web-ready graphics and functioning web components, pages, and sites.
- Is comfortable using front-end libraries and plugins, building libraries and plugins, integrating 3rdparty API’s, DOM manipulation, Ajax, and JSON.
- Has experience creating and integrating front-end components for various content management systems and frameworks (preferred: Joomla, WordPress, Magento).
- Understands cross-browser, platform, and device issues; knows how to perform tests and quality control checks related to these issues; and has experience developing appropriate compatibility solutions (including progressive enhancement and graceful degradation).
- Is experienced with responsive design and development.
- Has in-depth knowledge of accessibility and usability best practices and standards.
- Is passionate about web development, web standards, performance, and quality.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or another IT-related field.
- Two years of experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and a portfolio of work that includes examples of responsive websites.
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.
- A quick learner and a good team player.
- Excellent oral and written communication and proven record of good customer service skills.
- Initiative and aptitude to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-disciplinary team.
