For New Projects 01. Lead and/or participate gap analysis workshop to determine clients needs and discuss the requirements in detail by considering existing system processes and end to end contracts life cycle (e.g. if a change is required in contract activation process then what are the business impacts of this change on rest of the processes) Client requirements includes business processes, calculations and accounting 02. Document clients requirements, after discussion, so that development team can understand requirements clearly for development of functional specification document and application 03. Participate in impact analysis meetings to make sure that development / SQA teams understand requirements clearly. 04. Review functional specification document to make sure that proposed solution is in-line with the requirements 05. Review test cases, prepared by SQA, to make sure that testing scope is line with the requirements 06. Resolve queries raised by development / SQA team during development 07. Support implementation team during UAT from onsite/offsite. For Projects in Maintenance 01. Study modifications requests raised by client and analyze the completeness of the request by considering the impacted area and business impacts of the modification on rest of the areas (e.g. of a change is required in receipting process then is there any impact on rest of the processes) Client requirements includes business processes, calculations and accounting 02. Discuss the queries with client relating to change request and make sure that requirement is well understood and complete 03. Document the required changes, in terms of business, and get it signed from client 04. Participate in impact analysis meetings to make sure that development / SQA teams understand requirements clearly. 05. Review functional specification document to make sure that proposed solution is in-line with the requirements 06. Review test cases, prepared by SQA, to make sure that testing scope is line with the requirements 07. Resolve queries raised by development / SQA team during development Pre-Sales Activities Its not core responsibility of business analyst to perform pre-sales activities but BA do participate in these activities to help out business development team relating to: 01. RFI and RFP response preparation 02. Application demonstration 03. Responding queries sent by tentative clients
