Strong Knowledge of the TCP/IP model, networking concepts (bandwidth, latency, etc) Strong network diagnostic skills.(ping, trace route,etc) God understanding of services, TCP/IP ports, protocols, applications (email, web, database etc) Hands on experience with multiple Linux distributions, software installation, command line and system diagnostics Good Experience of network monitoring tools and protocols (CACTI, Zabbix, NAGIOS, SNMP, Solarwinds). Exposure to scripting basics. Experience of analyzing system and network performance using monitoring and graphical data. Ability to assess faults, prioritize, respond and escalate accordingly. Ability to install software agents Experience of diagnosing network and service issues, following them through to resolution.
