Introduction:

Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) is going to administer Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) student midline assessment survey in its all targeted regions/provinces. Purpose of this midline survey is to gauge the effectiveness of its one year interventions. During the midline, student of grade I will be assessed using EGRA based tools developed using Tangerine. Android based tablets will be used to assess student literacy skill instead of using paper-pencil. In this regards, 32 short term consultants (Enumerators/data assessors) [preferably 16 male & 16 female] are required for almost one month (20 working and 06 non working days) during the month of April and May 2016. Local candidate are encouraged to apply for their district as per district list. During this agreement Enumerators S/He will be engaged with PRP to provide following responsibilities;

Requirements:

1. Attend 05 days training workshop to capacitate her/himself on Standardized Administration of Student Assessment Tools based on Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) approach as well as questionnaire.

2. Perform a day visit to school for practicing above mentioned tools and questionnaires by assessing grade I students & teachers during this workshop.

3. Travel to allocated district field and perform necessary coordination with school heads (whom responsibility will be assigned) where students and teachers will be assessed for selected schools.

4. Ensure to perform pre-school departure activities as per training before visiting any school.

5. Assess students and teachers of grade I for 12 selected schools using Android tablet (Tangerine). Each day a single school will be visited.

6. Observes language classes of teachers of grade I for almost 12 selected schools

7. Ensure timely data synchronization is made for uploading it to Server.

Education: Master degree preferred

Experience:

· Experience of administration of EGRA using paper-pencil/Android tablet/both is required

· Working with PRP data collection activities will be preferred.

· Experience with data collecting and monitoring/evaluation activities with PRP will be preferred

· Experience with development project is an asset.

· Expertise are required to use Tablets

2) Sindh: Karachi, SBA : 04 people required

3) ICT : All regions : 04 people required

4) AJK: Muzaffarabad, Hattain, Sudhnuti : 06 people required

5) GB: Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza Nagar : 06 people required

6) KP: Nowshera, Mansehra, Kohat : 06 people required

Important Note: PRP have rights to send any selected candidate to any district.

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project, implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners (Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management), is a seven-year project (2013-2020) with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of 1.3 million children in grades one and two. The project will achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that will work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: Improved classroom learning environment for reading, Improved policies and systems for reading, and Improved community based support for reading in Pakistan.
