Job Description:

Programme planning and implementation

--To assist Manager in the Child Protection and CRG Programmes as per goals and targets set in the Thematic Programme Plan; involving, among others, programme staff and other members of the programme management team.

--In consultation with M&E section ensure that all project implementation plans include appropriate monitoring and impact assessment mechanisms and tools.

--Seek formal and informal technical expertise from the thematic manager and arranging support to specific projects through field visits, as a project's objectives and activities usually contribute to the realization of more than one TPP and collectively Country Strategy Plan.

--For the approved funds and grants, assist manager in development of implementation plans for field teams and partner organizations.

--Share responsibility for managing the field teams / IPs in line with the implementation goals and targets.

--Provide technical back stopping to the field teams / IPs, regularly visit the field, do process monitoring and provide feedback.

Networking and Advocacy

--Provide assistance in Development and rolling-out advocacy strategy for thematic area of CP/CRG

--Assistance in Development of effective functional networks with other actors working for the furtherance of children's rights, in order to mobilize support for advocacy activities to further enrich our research initiatives, identify potential partners and funding opportunities in CP/CRG programme.

--Represent SC Pakistan Programme before the Government and its departments, partner organizations, donors and the public, as well as within the wider organization, as appropriate/assigned for experience sharing and raising the profile of the organization.

--Liaise with government officials and be in frequent contact with ministries and relevant officials for purposes of policy advocacy.

Children Participation and Child Rights Programming

--Include SC approach to child participation in all CP/CRG progarmme work, wherever practicable, and seek to develop and incorporate child-friendly methodologies to promote child participation in CP/CRG programme implementation.

--Apply in all project work approaches to child- rights based programming, diversity / non-discrimination, children as stakeholders, impact assessment, and organizational learning.

Personnel management:

--Ensure that all CP/CRG programme staff, including implementing partner's staff, comply with Save the Children's Child Protection Policy.

--Participate in the recruitment of CP/CRG programme staff in accordance with Save the Children HR policies and procedures.

--Lead, manage and motivate the CP/CRG team, ensuring that they have clear performance objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance on a regular basis.

--Create an atmosphere that induces open communication and maximizes skills/experience sharing among the team members.

--Identify staff development opportunities, as per programme needs and coordinate their implementation with SCI Country Office.

 
Skills Required
Candidate must be proficient and resourceful enough to fill most customer requirements like:
 
--Post-graduate degree in Social Sciences or related discipline with minimum 03 years of experience in development organizations, of which substantial proven experience has been in project management/working in partnerships with local/national NGOs.

--Good analytical skills backed by experience that spans areas such as field / action research, and field experience in programme management.

--An in-depth understanding of development issues pertaining to children, sensitive to child protection issues.

--Experience in advocacy at the level of communities, NGOs, and donor agencies.

--Experience in implementing programme interventions based on rights perspective.

--Experience of working with children and local communities in child rights perspective.

--Skills related to participatory research methods, computer literacy, financial management.

--Good communication skills both written and oral. Fluency in English. Ability to write high quality reports on programe interventions.

--Ability and willingness to travel widely and frequently.

--Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills tact, ability to accept criticism, tolerance, assertiveness, the ability to adapt behavioral style to the circumstances in order to achieve positive outcomes.
