Company needs an exceptionally strong technology executive to lead all Travel Technology Operations. The CTO will lead a scalable, high-performance delivery team and will be responsible to create effective relationships across the organization in Suppliers, Call Center, and Marketing.
Major responsibilities:
Lead the tech team to create and deliver on Product Roadmap
Move technology team to become AGILE (scrum / Kanban / XP)
Commit to fostering a quality-focused development culture focused on TDD/BDD (test drive and behavior driven development)
Create, implement, and manage processes and ensure best practices for software development, version control, unit testing, etc as well as build, test, release mechanisms
Lead talent management, including
Hiring
Developing
Retaining
Partner with other functional heads to deliver world class technology experience (mobile and UI)
Ensure technology is aligned with overall company strategy
Plan technology deliver, service levels
Required Technical Capabilities:
Sound knowledge of development within an Agile framework
Proven commercial software development experience (web)
Strong experience in architecting, implementing and managing high performance scalable J2EE applications on Linux / Unix platforms
Development experience with Open Source web technologies such as Tomcat, JBoss, Node.js, Play, etc. is a must
Excellent knowledge of J2EE architecture / design patterns, object oriented design methodologies, SOA, data modeling techniques and SOAP
Advanced UI/UX design concepts: HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Javascript Framework i.e. AngularJS, ExtS, Backbone, etc
Experienced in Java, Java EE / J2EE; Hibernate ORM, JPA 2.0+, etc; Spring MVC, Struts 2.0, JSF 2.0 and Facelets, etc; Dependency Injection with Spring, Java CDI, etc; Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, Websphere, Weblogic, etc.
Experience with RESTful API Consumption and construction
Familiarity with JSON/XML/SOAP consumption and construction
Familiarity with scraping technologies and mechanisms
Expertise in Linux
