Job Description:

Essential Functions

The Teaching Assistant is responsible for providing all sort of help to the Instructor in conducting a class.

  • Carefully review all program, site and staff materials provided. Return all completed paperwork as requested.
  • Organize and manage resources responsibly, including but not limited to, Robotics kits parts, cameras for taking pictures and capturing videos, iPad, installation CDs and DVDs, other hardware and software.
  • Communicate with instructor to review course syllabus and schedule, and to review course goals.
  • Prepare for specific lessons and daily duties by keeping up with course content, readings, and substitute for classroom teacher, if necessary.
  • Supervise students as they transition to and from the labs.
  • Arrive in the designated class before class time to assist instructors with preparations.
  • Assist instructors with all instruction-related tasks (e.g. leading small groups, assignments/tasks, management and use of technology equipment, set up and clean up of rooms, etc.)
  • Assist students during class.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Education, Skills and Abilities

  • Hold a bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering area, no experience necessary;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, other departments, and students;
  • Ability to work within an open and team environment using collaborative approaches;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English;
  • Good computer skills
