One of the roles that is essential to this new phase, is that of product management.

Responsibilities:

  • Realize that your product changes peoples lives. It can mean the difference between someone finding their best job ever, or employer finding the best candidate ever. You play a direct part in making Pakistan a happier place to work, because we connect so many people together.
  • Think and work at the speed of light; the speed of the best startups.
  • Understand the problems of job searching and hiring in Pakistan, across all job and pay scales. There has to be a strong Why do I do this every day aspect to your diligence to the product.
  • Be at the bleeding edge of technology happenings and feature rollouts. Reading Techcrunch daily alone wont cut it; youve got to understand the underpinnings of a great product and its team.
  • Work closely with UX and UI designers on complex user flows, identifying gaps and hurdles in realizing them.
  • Identify gaps in existing features, as well as new features that need to be thought about, and how to build them best. A good product manager identifies not just the problem, but a solution as well.
  • Apply a mobile-first design philosophy to every design you oversee. There is no such thing as desktop-only in todays world. Strive to give users the freedom to access 100% of your content and life changing opportunities 100% of the time through their mobile devices if they like.
  • Work on algorithms that produce tighter matches between parties using the product
  • Deliver clear and concise requirements to designers and engineers teams to build your products.
  • Understand online marketing and advertising better than anyone you know.
  • Understand analytics, A/B testing, and have a solid grasp on the tools that cater to optimization.
  • Define meaningful sets of these analytics to evaluate the performance of features and design.
  • Be great at collecting and sorting through data, and even greater at presenting that data visually.
  • Be absolutely brilliant at bug tracking; youve tried many tools and can back up why you use the one you use.
  • Be great at communicating, particularly across different teams and especially to senior management regarding timelines and issues. Communication is at the core of great product management.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science.
  • In lieu of a technology background by degree, strong work experience in a tech and startup field can be considered.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a technology ownership role.
  • Magician with basic Microsoft tools, or Apple tools (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
  • Strong excel skills a must.
  • Understand the basics of all the best backend and frontend technologies in use today, across the best online experiences.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with communicating over Asana, Slack, Convo, or other similar productivity tools.
  • Experience with owning mobile apps or websites, not just games. Productivity apps a plus, and enterprise apps a double plus.
  • Youve worked on products that have shipped/ gone live.
  • Youve programmed heavily before and understand engineering constraints.
  • Youve worked in both digital and traditional design fields (like advertising)
