Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Co-ordination of all Project logistics in all areas of operation; ensure compliance with the countrys procedures and policies for the management of the supply chain and vehicle fleets.
  • Ensure management of vehicle fleets is inline with Save the Children standards; ensure appropriate allocation and safe use of vehicles throughout the Project and ensure servicing and maintenance schedules are adhered to.
  • Ensure that national transportation of freight is in line with Project budgets and needs; ensuring the most cost effective and reliable means of transport is used for the timely delivery of supplies to project area.

- Oversee engagement of properties on rental and on lease basis and ensure timely completion of contractual obligations and legal formalities.

- Supervise inventory record keeping and ensure that it is updated regularly and frequently

  • Liaise with warehouse staff of the centralized warehouse and field area warehouses in monitor storage and issue stocks items, ensuring the re-allocation of stocks to project budgets after issue to the field.
  • Ensure stock management and administration systems are implemented throughout the Project. Monitor projects stock levels and advise on appropriate stocking and replenishment to meet project demands.
  • Ensure an asset register is maintained;ensuring that all Project assets are logged, issued with unique Save the Children asset numbers and are tracked throughout the Project.
  • Share information on the assessments and proposed interventions, providing overviews of logistics requirements for the development of project proposals and subsequent projects.
  • Maintain premises; ensure clean, safe and comfortable working environment.
  • Maintain contact with local authorities and the Country Security Manager to keep updated about local security situations.
  • Implement and supervise the security arrangements for all the MRP property and premises.
  • To liaise with other concerned Government departments, INGOs/NGOs and UN organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate Degree.
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years of overall experience; and a minimum of 6 months 1 year specific development sector experience
