Job Description

  • Provide support to the community volunteers/animators in Child Friendly Space locations on a daily basis, ensuring that activities are implemented in an appropriate manner.
  • Monitor appropriate implementation of program activities in Child Friendly Spaces.
  • Actively contribute to community mobilization regarding Child Protection issues arising .
  • Aware and mobilize communities and conduct meetings with community members including children, parents, teachers etc. Create awareness among the communities on DRR through Broad Based Community Meetings.
  • Actively contribute to the capacity building of community including children for child protection issues and activities.
  • Aware and mobilize SMCs and DMCs of school on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Engage SMCs and other local influential in development of Community Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Facilitate DMCs in Hazzard Mapping exercises at the village level.
  • Ensure that equipment inventories are up to date and that replacement needs are highlighted.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are understood and followed and that health & safety incidents are logged.
  • Assist the Animators in solving problems arising the Child Friendly Spaces.
  • Assist the Animators in working with children to develop new, creative activities as appropriate.
  • Ensure the participation of all groups of children, especially children who are the most vulnerable.
  • Assist the Project Officers in conducting parents and community meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to the Child Protection Policy and reporting procedures.
  • Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child Friendly Spaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree.
  • Demonstrated 1 to 2 years of overall experience; and a minimum of 1 year of CP specific one.
  • Experience of working in emergencies in child protection
  • Knowledge of DRR
  • Excellent Computer Knowledge
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in insecure environments
  • Knowledge of a local language will be a plus
  • Pushto speaking is desirable.
