· Lead, coordinate and support community mobilization officers for effective community mobilization and built their capacity to effectively support community based organization/committees. · Asses the decision making systems at community level including ingenious mechanisms. This may include assessment of community based structures in relation with evolving functions. Suggest ways and means for improvement · Asses the pattern of leadership involved in managing community based organizations. Identify weaknesses in managing the organizations in a democratic manner and suggest ways and means for improvement · Design and Introduce organizational/institutional maturity indicators and monitor the maturity of community based organizations from time to time · Asses duplication and overlapping of inputs of other organizations on community mobilization and development and share lessons widely at various forums · Develop community mobilization strategy in close coordination with program sector heads by ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in community mobilization planning, delivering, monitoring and reporting. · In close coordination with DM and program sector heads design a strategic community mobilization and development plan in particular with focusing on Save the Children programmatic areas. · Develop an integrated methodology for community mobilization process and give orientation/training to all community mobilization officers to work in close coordination with village male and female committees · Plan and assist community mobilizers to conduct awareness and mobilization sessions in the community and practically demonstrate to community mobilization officers for their capacity building. · Provide support to program sector heads to oversee project planning, implementation and monitoring regarding community mobilization and motivation. · Coordinate efforts for community awareness and mobilization in long term and permanent community mobilization methods. · Monitor appropriate implementation of program activities regarding community mobilization and reduce duplication of community mobilization efforts · Manage and supervise community mobilizers according to standard Save the children guidelines including performance management, job orientation, capacity building, support in recruitment process and grievance handling. · Exchanging ideas and experiences with management and other field staff as to inculcate the spirit of debate and discussion · Encourage community mobilizers for Providing support to and for maximum women participation in project activities, and childrens participation where appropriate · Promote and adhere to the principles and objectives of Save the Children · Willingness to work in emergency contexts and flexible to work long hours and on weekends.
