1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION Position Counselor Department - GFATM R9 HIV

2.0 POSITION OBJECTIVES To implement GFATM R9 HIV AIDS project activities by establishing CHBC site working in collaboration with PRs, SRs and by using implementation and quality assurance plans and tools for the project. 3.0 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS 3.1 Core Responsibilities & Duties 1. Provide counseling on treatment & drug adherence 2. Provide nutrition counseling to PLHIV 3. Provide counseling about Positive living & life after infection 4. Provide psychosocial support 5. Provide counseling on safe sexual & injecting practices & on primary prevention 6. Provide follow-up counseling on repeat visits 7. Support outreach team 8. Family counseling on stigma & discrimination 9. Family counseling on home based care 10. Provide counseling on other support services available 11. Provide Bereavement counseling 12. Maintain individual confidential counseling record & counseling sheets 13. Facilitate establishment of linkages with support groups & PLHIV networks 14. Maintain contacts with support groups in the local area for referring PLHIV from the center 15. Reporting on feedback to the project Senior Officer regarding individual cases 16. Reporting to the administrator on the data requirements for monitoring & reporting respecting confidentiality 17. Home base care and support to PLHIVs and awareness to family members at community level 18. Any Task assigned by the Project Manager 3.2 Occasional Significant Duties - Representation of program at different forums
- Support in organizing project related events/meetings/workshops
- As assigned by Project Senior Officer
4.0 JOB SPECIFICATION (MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS) Education MA/ MSc/ equivalent qualification Total Work Experience (In Yrs)4-5years Sector Experience (In Yrs) 3 years experience in HIV AIDS Skills:
- Good psycho social counseling skills
- Willing to work in conservative areas
- Fluency in Pashto and Urdu.
5.0 DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY This position requires some decision making. 6.0 PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 1. Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports files2. Number of counseling sessions conducted 3. CHBC services record
